Whirpool Model ATW4475XQ
Customer is not happy with the water temp, When you put it on hot/cold very little warm water comes.
it seems there is no change in water temp. on all cycles but the cold/cold. is there a way to get a hot wash with this machine? Also it says 2 speed combination what does this mean? I looked at the diagram and it only shows a 1 speed motor. I have gone to whirlpool's website but no manual is shown for this unit yet. Was this unit made just for the big box stores?

1) Control Panel shows Hot Wash option

2) RepairClinic and Sears show a 2-Speed Motor
wiring diagram shows 1-Speed
although, I've read somewhere that on Delicate Cycles, (etc)
that the Washer Motor runs / pauses / runs / etc

It shows a hot wash but it allows cold to enter as well. No change in temp from hot, warm and cool.
That is the same diagram that comes with the washer and shows 1 speed. Do you know what this 2 speed combination means?

1) are the Hot and Cold Hoses reversed ?
2) it may be the run / pause / run ... may only be used for Delicate, etc
It may be only using the HIGH Speed on the 2-Speed Motor

Two Speed Combinations is marketing-speak for the Delicate cycle running the intermittent agitation pattern. It does not explicitly say, nor does it necessarily mean, that the motor itself is 2-speed. This is a common "feature" on lower-end direct-drive brands and models (Roper, Estate, Amana, Kenmore 400 and 500 models, etc.).

back to the temperartur problem, these washers probably have the lowered hot temps with a ATC switch.
