To the Dojo,
Go out on this Amana SxS w/ "leaking" ice flapper. Open ice cream compartment--tight seal, no frost buildup, ice bin chute clean as a whistle. Put some light and eyes on flapper....and see it is "sweating." I notice the insulation of the flapper is uncovered and it is saturated with moisture. Since this product doesn't have a water line on that side and the flap seals well, I would replace the original equipment with this upgraded flapper (http://www.repaircli...R0000447/822937)? Critical comments, snide remarks, useful experience?

Yes, the replacement flapper has a foam seal on the back of it, the old one does not.

Update:
Called back, customers (very nice Georgia Tech fans--surprise) stating "something's leaking." Arrive to find...a sealed-back ice chute door sweating!!! Other Amana SxSs I sell and service don't have this problem, but don't have any fancy chute flap heater. Couldn't I swap this dishonorable flap for another, known to possess no gland problems?

Check the freezer and refrigerator door gaskets. If they aren't sealing well you will get moisture at the ice dispenser chute flap.
