I have a Kenmore 665-13743k600, Ser FT3904514.

The masticator was clogged with gookus. After ensuring a gookus free environment, I finally got the masticator to engage the gear, and ensured that it spun easily.

The lower spray arm appears to be traveling well.

BUT, the washer is VERY noisy, and the upper spray arm doesn't really turn, nor does the one on top of the dishwasher.

The upper rack has two positions where by it can get water to the spray arm...both covered by what appears to be a flap valve. the unused flap valve doesn't appear to be closing well...I've taken it apart, cleaned it and replaced it, but still not much improvment...could this be the cause of both the noise and lack of upper spray arm movement?

What condition is the middle spray arm that is attached to the upper rack?

Can you post a picture of it?

Sounds more like you need a wash pump and motor assembly, That would be causing your noise issues.

almost up to the Heater Element ?

Water level is good, almost to the element as Reg states. Wash arm moves easily, and doesn't appear to have any holes obstructed. Working on resizing the pictures to post...thanks fellas! don't know if it matters, but when I cancel the cycle, it drains quietly...

So, the pump drains quietly, the motor is loud after reseating the masticator. I believe that it's installed correctly, in that the teeth appear engaged to the wash impeller and it spins by hand easily (not as if on ball bearings, but it's not stuck). Does anyone have a picture of what a properly seated masticator looks like? Also, a you tube link to the noise the dishwasher makes is below...lastly, I ensured that the lower spray arm was tight, and the noise has abated somewhat, but is still louder than I recall...

you have something stuck in your pump

you will need to take it out , get in there and find it . there is no easy way out of this one

the last one i did sounded worse that yours does , it was a part of a plastic fork

Cactus, does the chopper look right to you? It was a pain in the @$$ to get in there right...REALLY hate to have to pull it and reinstall it...

Also, I'm a little confused...I see a Sump, a Pump, a Drain Pump and a motor; which do I go after?

Is this the process you'd follow?

the sump and pump are your problem ,

understand : you may never cure your problem any other way except a replacement , but it does not hurt to try

i have fixed these just by turning the pump upside down and shaking it , and what ever it is falls right out , so do this over a clean floor where you can see what fell from where

the video is good and bad !

Never NEVER ,NEVER !!!!!!! (did i say NEVER ! ) put the bottom cover on a dishwasher , before you have turned on the water and run through , fill , wash , and drain AND WATCHED , with a flashlight for any leaks ! ..........then when you are sure , really sure , you have no leaks , install the bottom cover

I would FIRE any tech that did this job in the order in this video

Understood about the bottom panel...similar to not buttoning up a newly built PC until you are sure. just making sure that was I was attacking the right part...looks like it's a pull the dishwasher afternoon...

So, I took out the assembly last night and shook the hell out of it...nothing fell out. Put it all back together, and YAY, had a small leak...The three sump tabs were completely inserted into the slots.

I removed the assembly this AM, got the seal nice and wet, cleaned where the seal contacts the tub, and reinserted the tabs. Put it all together again, and it still leaks...

any thoughts?

Just to close the loop, got it put back together again, no leaks, somwhat quieter...weird, but resolution is resolution, right?
