Frigidaire freezer FFU20FC4CW0 frosting at top

5 posts in this topic

To the Dojo,

This one's got me puzzled. Went out to a complaint of frosting at the top of this self-defrosting freezer (can't post pics here; too large). Found ice crystals at the top of the door...but no torn or worn gasket, no door standing cracked, nothing. What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Tyrus

and pictures off the Evaporator frost pattern

could be re-sized using Windows MS Paint..(or other programs)

OR post them somewhere else and post the links here ..

ALSO, do the George Washington test on the Door Gasket.

I've found on a couple of occasions on these freezers the body gets warped causing the door to not close correctly and then the icing starts and it actually ices in side the door liner and the strip of fiberglass insulation around the perimeter gets saturated and freezes causing ice to form around the door on the liner.

May need to pull the door off and remove the liner to check and make sure there's no frozen insulation and ice inside the door liner.
