How tight do those nuts need to be ?
Hand-tight as shown in the video ?

Finger-tight is fine, all that's needed. No need to go Ooo-Rah on these cheesy little fittings.

[Budget Appliance Repair]

It seems to be a somewhat common occurrence for these Frigidaire heater nuts to split down the seam in the side of the nut, I've never seen this happen in any other brand, (but then again Whirlpool and I believe a GE use a large plastic nut).
