Hi, this refrigerator works fine but the icemaker doesn't. I checked the board in back both fuses ohm out. The icemaker is frozeover and doesn't do anything. This is a different icemaker than i'm used to so I need some help as it has its own evaporator? Thanks.

If the icemaker is frozen around the the icemaker evaparator than the bi-metal or heater element for the ice maker failed. I recently had that situation and replaced both because I was sure which failed. I havent heard from the customer so I think that fix it.

Its actually frozen around the tray where the ice cubes are made. So its basically like a defrost system in a freezer? Is there any chance its the board? I only ask because the icemaker is literally stuck and doesn't move at all.If the icemaker is frozen around the the icemaker evaparator than the bi-metal or heater element for the ice maker failed. Didn't you test the heater for continuity? You could also plug it in as well because its 115v. Then I would just need to ohm out bimetal. If bimetal is open then that is probably the issue is what I was thinking. It also has a dedicated board....I think it has a test mode on front panel as well. Also, the fan at the icemaker isn't running either.

I didnt test the heater or bi metal because getting to them to test them is a time comsuming job. You have to first melt all the ice and then take apart the ice maker assembly. I didnt want to take it apart twice. The parts are cheap so it made sense to order both and take it apart when I had the parts.

There is about 12 tests that can be performed on the ice maker from the dispenser board on the freezer door. I called Electrolux for help with the tests.

So, if the fan in the icemaker isn't running, the icemaker is froze over would that maybe be a bad board? And how would I test that? I guess what im asking is that how does this icemaker operate normally? Is the fan running all the time? How do you initiate a harvest mode? thanks.
