I went on this call a week ago. The customer was complaining that the unit was leaking and would stop during the cycle. After putting it in service mode, it did not display any error codes. The customer reported he had seen the word "Sud" on the screen one time. I put it through several test cycles and it worked perfectly. I blew through the pressure switch tube and it was clear. I asked the customer to use the washer again and let me know what it did. It worked perfectly for several cycles but is back up to its old tricks again. As for the leak, I found a small leak at the pump and repaired it. It has not returned. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem?

what detergent is being used ?
is it HE ?

They told me they had thrown away the non HE detergent and were using strictly HE.

I went back and checked this washer again. The customer says it has been stopping during the cycle and she has to press "start" to get it to go again. She also says that; sometimes, she has to press the button two or three times to get it to restart. I had her put the washer through two cycles with clothes in it. It did not stop during either cycle. The only thing I noticed was excessive vibration during the final spin. During both loads, the machine detected out of balance conditions and had to redistribute the load three to four times each before the out of balance condition was resolved and the washer reached top RPM. I recommended that the customer place a piece of 3/4" plywood under it to better stabilize it. My question is, could the out of balance problem be causing the machine to stop and require manual restart to complete the cylce or should I be looking elsewhere?

Did you check the struts to see if they are ok and not broken?

I did check the struts and the appear to be fine.
