KGST307HBF9 KitchenAid Slide-In Gas Range Bake Burner Does not Ignite. The bake ignitor checks out, about 300ohms. The bake ignitor glows until you cancel the bake but no flame. The broil ignites. I only see one gas valve for both the bake and broil. So could the ignitor be bad, even though it checks out? The sensor has about 1100ohms at room temp. The gas valve has continuty on the two terminals on top and bottom, the twoo on top and the two on the bottom.

Ohms testing is merely preliminary. Something can test good on ohms and still be bad. In this case, you need to measure the current draw thru the ignitor. There's just no way around it...

The Ignitors get "weak" with age (we all do)
and no longer draws the necessary amount of current to heat to the needed temperature,
The correct amount of Ignitor current is needed to open the (in series) Gas Valve

I don't have a clamp on meter, at this time. I noticed that the Samurai has a Fluke, which is probably about $250 to $300 for the Fluke. I have seen a clamp on meter at Harbor Freight for $12. Is it worth buying? item#96308

Got the meter a little better one than picture. Was only getting 2.7Amps through the ignitor. Replaced ignitor all is well. This type of clamp meter to test a glowing igniter that doesn't fire up the burner.

The Fluke 322 is less than $100 and is an excellent, robust meter that will take a lot of abuse and serve you well for many years.
