Hi.
We had a severe burned pizza situation the other day when the upper oven in our (oldish) Thermador MSC239 double wall oven deciding to ignore it's instructions to maintain 400 degress. Figured it would be a bad thermostat so looked around to replace it and found it's basically unobtainable.
So I've run the following "tests":
Switched the upper thermostat with the working lower thermostat (including the control knob).
Outcome: lower oven works fine; upper oven never stops heating (test temp is 200)
Switched the push button controls between upper oven and the (still) working lower oven
Outcome: lower oven works fine; upper oven never stops heating (test temp is 200)
Tested the upper oven heating element and it showed good continuity and no internal short.
Can you suggest something else to test? So far I haven't found a bad part.
