I must ask two things of you
1: what matters more , how it looks or how it works ? (does it matter at all what it looks like ? )
2: how long do you expect it to last ?
PS: i have 3 favorite washers of all time , the best of the best
#1 1973 Lady Kenmore , belt drive with all the bells (my personal washer)
#2 any GE filter-flo washer (cheep but built like a tank )
#3 any Whirlpool / Kenmore direct drive washer
#1and 2 no longer made , #3 going fast
one more thing , who on earth is saying the "Cabrio" is a good washer ?!?!

just read one of the site that said Cabrio is good...
Then why mess with it ?

Sorry, I meant NOT cleaning well, it just had enough water to make the cloths wet and not cleaning it.

That description (or symptom) is often heard from CABRIO customers
My recommendation is: LG front load washer
Close 2nd choice: Speed Queen top load washer.
Especially if you prefer non-computerized models or live as Cactus Bob does---"off grid".
If you're a "prepper" worried about doomsday scenarios or EMPs---Speed Queen is the way to go.

Musty odor
L-O-N-G cycle times
Dingy/yellowing whites
Suds error message
Slow spin speeds
Intermittent water leaks (from rear of washer)
And other annoying symptoms which vary brand-to brand.
Read below:
The *correct* amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent that should be used in any front load or agitatorless top load washer with tub sizes 3.0 cu ft and larger is as follows:
HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load
HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon
Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.
Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"

Since they no longer make the Whirlpool direct drive top load washer, I don't like any of the new machines.
I would never buy a front load washer unless it was my only choice.
