<<<LG Dishwasher with a reported code of LE. Model # LDS5811ST/01>>>
********************
All LDS5811 dishwashers had flawed SUMP ASSYs.
If the SUMP ASSY has never been replaced before (under warranty or otherwise)---replace with the revised/new SUMP ASSY.
Original Sump Assy: 6871DD1002B
Revised: AJH31248604
*******************
<<<The customer left home for several weeks and when they came back, the power was still on with this code>>>
*******************
If the customer started the dishwasher---before leaving the home---this simply indicates that the WASH MOTOR either seized or began to slow down (RPMs) during the cycle---which would then trigger an "LE" error.
The error would remain active/flashing until the dishwasher is turned off.
*******************
<<<She turns the power off and everything runs fine>>>
*******************
Not uncommon in older LG dishwashers with the faulty/intermittent Wash Motor issue.
*******************
<<<just the power stays on>>>
********************
The "LE" error keeps returning?
or...
The dishwasher never turns off ?

The video shown above is very useful for the novice---however there are 2 things that should be known...
1) The model used in the video is not a "5811" model but another model which has the STEAM CLEAN option.
On the "5811" model---there's less clutter underneath---no STEAM GENERATOR nor is there a DUAL WATER VALVE.
2) Obviously the video was made as an educational aid/guide---in a consumer's home it's not a good idea to place the dishwasher
*on it's side*---as water will leak out from the tub onto the floor (big mess).
Any LG dishwasher can be serviced (Sump Assy Replacement) with a full tub of water---as long as it is placed on *it's back*.
