This is usually caused by the spark module not sensing the spark return current. The spark goes from the electrode, through the flame, to the burner and then from the burner to the oven chassis and back to the module. The weak link in this path is the burner head. It tends to get gunked up with food spills or just plain corrosion. Disassemble the burner head and give it a good cleaning to re-establish a good electrical connection to the rest of the range.
