hello, this unit has a bad element. when i looked the part up it shows the element along with a new control board for $170 ,why would i need the board please?

the original "round" Heating Element & Controller had a problem
replaced with new "pentagram" Heating Element and new Controller
Unless you already have the new Controller w/ "pentagram" Heater ?

why would i need the board please?
The new heater draws higher amps (better cleaning and drying), new board has a different heater relay to accommodate the higher amp draw...
