To the Dojo,

 

Went out on this washer to find a square-link gold chain chewed up in the washer (washer clear). While inside the product, I found a three inch rusted spot on the aluminum bearing (upper right in parts on this page: http://appliantology...eplacement-kit/); this washer would be a candidate for bearing replacement, right?

Based on your description, probably. A photo of the rust would help. May be able to clean it up. But for the effort, the replacement kit is the way to go.
