GE Profile Oven: Replacing the Electronic Clock

9 posts in this topic

Master,

I have a GE Profile oven which displayed the dreaded "F0" error. With wisdom gleaned from this forum, I ordered a new clock from the "RepairClinic", then bravely installed the new part. I briefly was stymied by a new error reading "Loc rEF" but the master again, in his wisdom, provided the answer to enable the new clock and touchpad to communicate.

All seemed well, with the touchpad responding correctly to all inputs. However, when the oven is started, the vent fan no longer starts up. The oven heats as it should, but the fan does not come on.

How did I fail master? Is this a new problem, or does it indicate the connections were not made properly?

Sensei,

Why awaiting your guidance, I took a nap to restore my spirit, then drank a beer (Goose Island Mild Winter) to restore my courage. I removed the panel again and checked all connections. All seems correct, however as before the oven heats but the vent fan does not activate.

My Wa is troubled, and I await your enlightenment.

Master! Upon reaching approximately 160 degrees, the fan activated! Harmony has returned to my kitchen, and my Wa is at peace.

Your humble servant thanks you.
