Hi. Family member has above gas stove with oven that won't shut off. Using the electronic controls we are able to get oven to properly preheat. However, when it is time to shut it off, hitting the "clear/off" button does nothing. Oven contiues to be on. I'm guessing a new timer control which is fairly expensive. Any tips on how to diagnose the problem would be appreciated. thanks

If the Clear / OFF Button doesn't "beep"
then it would seem to be a bad Controller

using a hair dryer to heat the adhesive around the edges, and a small pocket knife, I haven't had to buy an overlay in a long time.
