The other day my yahoo search engine heading was scrambled, so jumping to conclusions I tryed a system restore. Well, it did not straighten up the scrambled heading, but since then I have to get online from an icon in the lower right corner of the computer instead of clicking on the internet explorer icon in the left corner. I use a verizon 5 spot for internet access. I have to put my email address in every time and then it does not go directly to the email. I have to go to yahoo before It acknowledges the address I just put in. I tried going back to system restore and found a big X there saying; A volume shadow copy service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the application event logfor more info(0x80042302). Any body have any Ideas before I take it to the shop. Thanks.

All the information at the top of the yahoo page after a search, (not the home page) was overlayed on the left side of the page.

It may be an Internet Explorer problem
(may need to be re-installed)
OR try using another browser.. i.e. Mozilla FireFox

Thanks Reg, I will look into that. I'm not the most computer savvy guy. I use them but not to good at protecting them, or figuring out if it is me or the outside world trying to infringe upon me.

My question is: Should the recovery disk be run once a year or so just to bring everything back to optimum performance? Thanks for your help.

doesn't running the recovery disc "start from scratch" and install all of your original programs,
but not any programs or data you've installed after that ?
