The dryer in question was making squeaky noises, so we replaced the glides. My friend says now since replacing the glides the dryer wont shut off unless you manually shut down the timer or it over heats & shuts it self off. She said that if the timer was in the on position it always ran when you shut the door; you didnt have to press the on button. The timer both then and now advances, however when it gets to the end of the cycle ; now she says it doesnt shut off... It did before however. Do you think my friend has been into someones meds? lol Or perhaps she needs some for delusions? Or could this just be a coincidental malfunction of the timer. I think someone in the past hot wired the door switch so the ol' boy is over there now checking it out. I would love a repair manual on this machine to prove to her that glides have absolutely nothing to do with the electrical system. ( Secretly I think she dyes her hair brow). .... lol Have a great day.

Is the drum binding? Is the vent clean. These would cause overheating.
If you control the dryer with the timer, the door switch and the push to start switch have to be in the closed position= either jumpered or bad switches.
The timer could have a stuck contact not allowing it to stop, but all of these problems together seem unlikley.

To clarify a binding drum would cause the motor to overheat and stop.

If she (or you) are abslutely certain that the timer will not shut off at the end of the cycle in a TIMED DRY setting, then replace the timer ==> http://www.repaircli...er=DBSR463EG1WW
Otherwise, heed suampman's wise advice.
