KM (WP) dryer 110.67422600 chewing up rollers

3 posts in this topic

To the Dojo,

I'm asking the question now. Customer calls complaining of thumping when the dryer runs with ANY load; replaced the rollers and went on about my calls. Callback with the same problem. Pulled the front cover and found the attached pictures. I searched the Samurai family of websites, and my heart initially rose upon discovering this case (http://appliantology.org/topic/37226-maytag-de8200-dryer-rebuilld-frustrations/) about shredded dryer rollers.

Unfortunately, I don't think that case applies to me because my rollers are OEM/FSP, not aftermarket/Supco. After talking with the local senior appliantologist in my dojo, I checked the quality of the FSP #4392065 rollers--squishy, like what I read in the MT Dependable Care dryer. The senior appliantologist reminded me of the 349241T rollers (http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Drum-Roller/349241T/3436) which are more durable.

I hope this helps any other appliantologist or grasshoppa in repairing his or her WP dryer. More news as this story gets resolved.

Thanks for all this site does,

Tyrus

Looks like mice are chewing on the rollers.

Is the front of the drum ridding properly on the front felt bearing, i have see some where things were bent out of place and the drum would fall down in front of the bearing block and wear rollers quickly.
