Whirlpool Washer - Model LSR8433KQ0 - Terrible sound!

10 posts in this topic

Hello,

My washer is making a loud banging/pounding sound during agitation (In Normal and Perm Press cycle but seems worse in normal cycle). It agitates, rinses, and spins OK - it just the terrible sound. This can't be a good sign.

Here is a video with sound:

Can anyone tell from this sound what the problem is?

Washer is about 10 years old and has done a lot of loads in that time.

Thank you!

I agree with Skiter.  Clothes are just spinning around - not turning over.  Bad tranny (gearcase.)

Thanks for your replies. Not what I wanted to hear but I can't complain.

Paid 350 for the machine 10 years ago and have probably done 3-4000 loads in that time.

I only wish I could find another direct drive machine.

I have replaced the clutch 2 times in 10 years so I can replace the trany but not sure I want to put the money into it at this point.
