Whirlpool Refrigerator Model# ABC2037DPS:  In January I replaced the water valve, water filter and ice maker p/n D7824706Q and now the shut off bar that senses a full bin is hanging up at the top when bottom freezer drawer is opened and closed.  I can manually flip the bar down and continue to make ice, but not practical to do all the time.  Do I need to adjust something to get the bar to go down? Thanks.

Did the same thing happen with the previous icemaker? Was this bail arm transferred from the original icemaker?

Yes this bail arm was transfered from the original ice maker, and not sure whether it was the same problem as original... but likely same problem now that you mention it.

Then the common element is the bail arm. Switch it out and see what happens.

Was this bail arm transferred from the original icemaker?

That was an incredibly insightful question, Brother Durham! Never even occurred to me to ask that because I always use a complete ice maker replacement kit that includes the bail arm.

You taught me well, master.

I will say the same thing the next time you point out a mistake. Except I'll modify a few punctuation marks....

I put a new complete ice maker in and fixed the problem.  Moving forward I will use the complete kit and avoid the call back, THANKS!

O.K.  The customer called and now the Ice maker is making too much ice and overfilling the freezer.  Is there an additional wire that hangs down off the bail arm that I didn't install, or come with the kit?

does the IceMaker stop if the Bail Arm is raised

a little more ?

OR a lot more ?
OR doesn't turn OFF when raised completly ?

Its a bottom freezer and the customer just said that the "bar can't touch the ice and it misses the ice by about two inches".  Do they make one of those wire bars that connects to the bail arm for this model ice maker?
