Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener problem

TennBears

Recommended Posts

I have a Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener. The opener itself worked fine but the light quit working so I changed the bulb. That was not the problem. I then went to check the voltage across the poles of the light socket. Just as I looked down and read the voltage, which was fine, I like an idiot touched my two meters leads together sending sparks everywhere and tripping the breaker. I am pretty sure the problem with the light was a loose terminal in the socket which is fixed. When I went back to check it again, it now however only shows half voltage (taking it before the socket) and the closer will not work now. Please help!
