All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it.
I'll be posting a couple more tech sheets before Saturday so be sure to follow this event to keep up with the tech sheets we'll be going through.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Question about AC replacement

Thurliss

Recommended Posts

Told today that need to replace my 22 year old,  Lennox H 519651U-22 AC unit  for about $4000.  Does this sound reasonable, and is there a better unit than a Lennox at the same price or cheaper. I aggree the coil is shot and it won't hold refrigerant at this age and needs replacing. I just want to make sure to put in the best unit for the money. I am in my 60's so this most likely will be the last unit I need.

Lennox is ok, Carrier is pretty reliable too.

Thanks so much, am having someone come out tomorrow and give an estimate - and they install carrier.  As an older lady am a target for dishonest repair folks, and having you all help has been a wonderful.

you must not be in South Florida, typical age for a A/C system is 8-12 years depending how close you are to the beach

Ahh-Cool A/C
