I converted this dryer to propane using part #49572. When I started it up the flame was really loud. I've done a couple of these and never had this problem. It sounds like a blow torch.

Thanks.

Double check the instructions in the use of the blocking pin.  Not used in all applications but your model may require it.

I called the customer about the number. He is elderly so it could be wrong. This is the only one I can find that is close.NGD4600YQ0

The directions say

  1. Per Factory The Only Difference Between 49572 & 49572a Is
  2. The Instructions They Have The Same Components 04/12kc
  3. Per Factory Blocking Pin Not Used In All Application 05/12jt

The instructions that came with the dryer don't mention conversion. How do I know whether to use it or not?

Most LP conversions will require the installation of the blocking pin in the regulator.  Even with the proper LP orifices installed if the regulator is not converted it will result in a higher gas flow.

I had the same issue a couple weeks ago.

If the gas valve has dimples on top of it the conversion does not use the blocking pin.

Look atb the 8 o'clock position on the gas valve for a LP/NG stamp.

NG will align with a hash mark at the 7 o'clock position.

You must rotate the top of the gas valve counter-clockwise to align the LP with the hash mark.

Instructions are in the file supplied by REG.
