Hi,

I have a problem with my fridge, a E522B about 5years old. Product 22119-a, Model Number E522BRXFDU. Looks like a e522brxu2.
The water dispenser doesn't work.
I push the dispenser button and no water comes out and water tap crossed icon comes up on the display.
I have check the solenoid valve and it works.
It seems that the 12V current doesnt get to the valve for some reason.
Is there a service manual available for this model as I don't want to wreck it by opening the dipsnser panel to check the switch.

Thank You.

did it work previously ? or have you just connected water to it ?

if you have just connected waster to it then it will take a few minutes of holding the button in

to get the tank filled and water to come out

if the no tap symbol is working then the switch is working

other possibility is that the water line inside the fridge is frozen which did happen in some production

as they put the water line next the the refridgeration line

you can check this by using some whipper snipper/weed whacker cord up the water hose from the water valve end

Yes it used to work fine. It started to "play up". The tap icon used to come up and no water. Then after a few hours water would come out again.

Now it doesnt work at all.

I cleared the lines and air was passing through.

Solenoid is ok.

Ice maker works.

Thank you for your help.

maybe you have a crook water solenoid

quite unusual but possible

its going to be one of those things you will need to work out step by step when it stops working

I have tested the solenoid and it is ok. When appying 12v current it opens. Both solenoids (water and ice) are ok.

So far i know that when the dispenser button is pressed there is no current going to the water solenoid. Nothing accros the two tabs of the blue terminal.

I just need to locate where those wires go back to in the fridge.

Thanks for the help.

check the wiring at the top of the door at the hinge

the cover comes off pretty easy

betting you have a broken wire there
