Maytag MFI2665XEM7

5 posts in this topic

This maytag Ice2O Model MFI2665XEM7 doesn't make ice.

The Ice maker keeps revolving around but no water enters.

Also you can't shut it off by lifting the arm.

Could be a shorted heater or thermostat in icemaker.  May also be a damaged module.  Remove icemaker from ice room and remove module from mold.  Test heater leads for continuity.  Should read 71 ohms.  Test thermostat leads.  Should read open at room temperature.  Inspect module for damage.  With icemaker removed check rear fill tube for ice blockage.

I don't think it would "pause" unless the Thermostat "opened" by the (somewhat warm) incoming water

1) either bad Water Valve OR bad IceMaker Module

2) bad IceMaker Module

These icemakers are troublesome. I have replaced about 5 of these in one week for the same problem of harvesting continuously.
