Symptom:

Igniter is heating up and burner is firing but only for a few seconds then igniter immediately repeats heating and burner comes on only to go out in another few seconds.  This cycle continues.

When the valve opens and emits gas for ignition there is a constant clicking sound until gas shuts off.

I have already replaced the valve coils

Any thoughts?

Disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and run it again so we can eliminate a restricted vent as the cause of the short cycling.  Do tell.

Yes, the vent has been disconnected with same result.

Currently, the dryer door is attached but not the front panel (so I can see the igniter, heat cone), but the symptoms are the same with the front panel installed.

The clue to me is the clicking sound that is present when the flame is on.  And this happens at the same intervals with or without the front panel.  The clicking sounds like a quick (2 times per sec) rap-rap-rap...., but only when the flame has been ignited, not when just the igniter is energized.

The cycle is as follows:

Igniter energizes, heats up (apx 10 sec)

Flame lights and igniter de-energizes (apx 10 sec)

Igniter energizes,

Flame lights.....

same symptoms before you replaced the Gas Valve Coils ?

If the Coils are good, and installed correctly,

may be a bad Flame Sensor Switch

OR a bad Gas Valve
