The service manual for my Bosch SHE Dishwasher (SHE44C06UC/22) references control codes (modes) C1 through C9.  C9 is the showroom demo configuration, but it doesn't say what C1 through C8 are.  It just says to note which one it was on and put it back when taking it out of showroom mode.  Well, I was mucking with it and I may have switched it from C1 to C2 accidentially but I'm not sure.  Does anybody know what these codes are?

I also found extra buttons under the panel.  Holding down the far left one while turning it on puts the unit in a mode not documented in the service manual...

Control codes are particular to model. C0-C4.  Your model is a C1 control.  With unit turned off and fascia removed and module exposed, there are six buttons.  Ignore the first button under display and label remaining buttons from left to right S1 S2 S3 S4 and S5.  The leds above each button label L1 L2 L3 L4 and L5.  Enter coding mode as follows:

Press and hold buttons S2 S3 S4 and S5 simultaneously, then turn dishwasher on using on/off switch.  When in coding mode leds L2 L3 L4 and L5 will be blinking.

Release buttons S2 S3 S4 and S5 to view control coding in display.  To change control coding, press button S2 as needed to scroll through codes.  Your model is C1 or 21.

Turn dishwasher off to save control coding and exit mode.  Reinstall control to console. Reinstall fascia.  Check operation.

Thanks Kohai.  I had indeed accidentally switched it to C2 and got it back on C1.

The service manual references the buttons by A,B,C with A and C being the cancel/drain buttons.

I found you can also change control modes by going into the "normal" service menu (hold down two wash buttons while turning the unit on), select P4 (button B until P4 displayed, then C to select), then the control codes display and you can iterate through them with button B.  Service manual says to use button C to select, but as you stated, you need to just turn the unit off to save the control code.

Now I'm curious if the other control modes are used to turn on/off features, which would potentially turn one model into another...:)

The control codes are specific to the control modules.  The main difference between coding appeared to be length of cycle.
