Scotsman SCE275A-1G Bin Full light on

Recommended Posts

Upon start up, all the lights on the controller light up and then go off except the "bin full" light stays on. When the freeze cycle starts, everything seems to function correctly; when the freeze cycle light stops flashing and is on steady, the compressor and fans start up and run for about twenty seconds. Then the machine shuts down with and the bin full indicator is still on.

I cleaned the sensors and followed the diagnostics on page 27 of this manual

http://appliantology.org/files/file/881-scotsman-sce275-ice-machine-service-manual/

With connecter 4 removed and a jumper wire in, the bin light stays on. I'm a little unsure as this procedure is for a continuous run condition. Does anybody have an opinion on which part to replace? The controller is $390. I want to be sure. Thanks.

The cube diverter between the ice coils may be out of position blocking the light.

If the diverter is OK,replace the bin full sensors.

The diagnostic in the manual pointed me to the controller, and with no way to prove the sensors bad, I relied on Jumptrout' s advice. The bin senors did the trick :thanks: . There's a file from Scotsman that says this problem is rarely the controller. I uploaded it for all to peruse.

There is a control board tedt that bypasses the sensors.

If it works on bypass, you check for obstructions blocking the signal and or clean the eyes.

If both those efforts fail, you replace the sensors.

Glad you got it working.
