Public Sewage, Septic Tank or drain field. But the majority of the lint is collected during the drying process and goes wherever the customer puts it when she removes it from the lint filter. The rest gathers along the inside of the dryer cabinet and builds up on the walls of the dryer vent eventually causing a service call on the dryer with a complaint of not heating, which turns out to be actually a restricted vent causing hot wet clothes that take repeated dry cycles to dry completely. Which then can result in the customer saying "what do you mean you charge $150.00 to clean the vent, I'll do it myself". The customer then blows the vent with a leaf blower and feels good'n'proud. Meanwhile, the majority of the lint is still built up on the walls of the vent and he didn't clean the interior of the dryer either. The next load of clothes drys just great. But, the next load some of that lint that was left in the dryer cabinet, or loosened by the leaf blower, just happens to drift by and land on the heater. Well, when that ignited and you can guess what happens after.

House burns down and the customer blames the appliance repair guy. Says he must have misdiagnosed it or something.

But anyway, that's what happens to the lint!
