I am working on a Samsung RS2555SL. Appears to have a defrost problem on the refrig side, but after reading some of the other posts I'm not sure. Could you send me the manual or any related information?. Drain was ok, heater tested bad on 2k setting. Does the heater come separate from the evap. coils?

Last time I had to do one I had to replace the entire evaporator, that's been a couple of years though there's also a note in the Fast Track about relocating the defrost sensor to provide a longer defrost.

Gotta love Samsing, to get the defrost heater replaced you have to order and replace the whole evaperator coil
which is part of the sealed system, which is a major repair
..so you DO NOT want to find an open defrost heater....
wonder what the dude that dreamed this up was smokin....beatnik.gif

Yes (and no)
(many) months ago I read:
... I found a way to replace the broken one...
... It's not fastened by screws...
... rivets which you'll have to grind the head off.
... When you put it back together you could put more rivets in or sheet metal screws.
... pictures that show the separated defrost heater and evaporator...
... The old one was burned out at the joint.
