KSSS42QJT00 - Compressor Temp - What is Normal?

2 posts in this topic

My KitchenAid KSSS42QJT00 compressor is hot to the touch, and (as measured by my more reliable hand) does NOT seem to cycle between hot and cold (as I would have expected), even when not running.  I took a measurement (with a pretty well calibrated  IR digital thermometer) just now of 138-F.

So, are there any guidelines on expected temperatures at the compressor shell, and how they might vary over time?  The ambient is around 76-F.
