Dear Master,

I went out to this call today and replaced the inverter and Iam still getting an ''F1 E5'' error after about 30 seconds. The only thing really left is the magnetron,or possible circiut board .Any ideas?

Mag tube. I checked many with good readings but have cracked magnets which can cause that error.

Thank you for the reply,

I was able to bring the original inverter from this job to the shop where I had an panasonic microwave that uses the same inverter. It works fine in the panasonic counter top micro so its safe to assume the original one in her kitchenaid combo is ok.So that leaves the magnetron and microwave manager.Iam going to take voltage measurments to see if the inverter is even gettin the voltage neede to run.I will let you know what I find.In the mean time if you have any other tips I would certainly appreciate it

Thank you,

SAMANERA

DEAR FELLOW SAMURAIS,

The new inverter I received turned out to be the problem.I went to customers house with a new invereter and replaced it.The original new one on close inspection had a hairline crack across  most of the traces. The problem I had was that I assumed the new part was ok,when it never was. This created a whole slew of additional part orders and trips. So I will be examining ever part especially electronic circuit very closely. Thanks for all your input

Down here in Costa Rica I advise my customers to get rid of the inverters and buy a real mw if they need one.  Personally I don't use.  After the mw gets done with the food, do we really know what is left to eat?

Great job, dryerman!  Way to stick with it and git 'er done.  That was a great find on the hairline cracks on the board traces.  It's a good reminder to us all that boards can occasionally be bad out of the box.
