Have kitchen aid ice machine unit has a hot gas valve that is energized with 120 volts all the time. Replaced control board. Still doing same thing. Will try new board latter. Any suggestions

only thing that gives power to the HGV is the board. are you assuming it has power because it is open? could be just stuck...

As a result of the hot gas flow and the ice sliding off the evaporator plate, the evaporator temperature begins to rise.

When the evaporator thermistor reaches the set temperature (6.5°F), the unit switches to the Ice Making cycle.
