Dear Samurais,

I have a frigidaire REF/FREEZER Model# FRS6LF7FB6.The unit has a defrost problem.I checked the heater element and it is about 28 ohms therfore good. When I find that I usually replace bi-metal and control.I ordered control and bi- metal .The bi-metal is correct but the new controls plug is wrong. The harness in the refrigerator,i,e., the male end will not go into new control female end.The female end on the new control is backwards and upside down .wjere there suppose to be a square peg it is arched and vice versa.Anyway my distributor doent know what to do and the cust of course is running out of patience. Is there suppose to be a harness replacement with this or has electrolux made an error in the new control.IDK.If any of you guys or girls have access to tech help with electrolux I will trade for Tech help with a Samsung unit anytime.

Thank you

SAMNERA

Is the new control orange, about the size of a deck of cards, and labeled ADC IV?

Is the The old one:

A.) white?
B.) without a plastic enclosure but the card deck size?

Looks like they are the same connector just 180 degrees from each other... That is odd.

from Appliancepartspros:

When they made a change they flipped the connector over.

Tab for harness should be on bottom of board.

Dear Master,

Thank you for the tip.I was afraid of doing that because the clip on the harness wont match up,and thinking it will short something out.I will just simply  turn it upside down and connect it.

Dear Master,

I didnt have the nerve to make the control plug fit but I finally got the scoop on this conundrum. The control is correct if you order via the model #,however the new wire harness would have to be installed already. The part number for this repair is Part number: 5303918341

Part number: 5303918341

.This part number will get you the control and the new harness as well.Frigidaire made a boo boo

You cannot simply turn the harness over, there is no room for the tab on the bottom.  I see this post is several months old and Frigidaire or whoever still hasn't solved the problem.  I'll assume dryerman is right and Part number: 5303918341

Part number: 5303918341

is the right part number.  We will see.

Yes, that is the control to use when the harness pins don't line up or are upside down. It comes with a new harness.
