I have a Hotpoint gas dryer Model DLL2880 from 1979 which suddenly stopped firing up. I found the flame sensor with no continuity. Replace it with a new one, but still no flame, and checked continuity - also open on the new one. (I didn't check it before installing it - won't do that again.) Is there another element which would cause the new one to burn out or was it most likely defective when I installed it? Thanks!
