My 20 year old Thermador kitchen hood model number H5530-03 stopped working..looks like the blower motor is not working. It is an external mounted blower on the rooftop. THe blower number is VR600. I called Thermador and they are telling me that none of their current blower models will work for the range hood taht we have..since it is 20 years old..do i need to replace the whole hood and blower..do you think any of the 600cfm blowers will work..for example VTR630D??

Needed to have a tech come and check it out...if the vent will raise but the fan doesn't work...could be several things....micro switch , speed control, fan motor...all of which are repairable.

For the remote blowers I think the main issue will be in wiring the blower motor to be compatible with your present hood control.  The hood model number provided brings up a microwave.  Many of the Thermador remote blowers also used a wall mounted control (SVR) rotary switch.  I can't remember the part number to that switch and I'd be real surprised to see if it was still available.
