God, what an idiot! Hey, genius, here's a clue: the Samurai guy doesn't put a link to Repairclinic just because he likes their logo. Good grief! I'm new to this forum and using computers but I didn't have to stop and scratch myself to figure that one out. Of course, I do run a famous and highly successful steak house in Beverly Hills, California, so I have an idea or two about how business works. And I know that you don't get anything good for free. Even all those pictures of naked school boys on your computer cost you something, maybe not money, but even now, the Feds are closing in on you and that whole sick kiddie porn ring you're involved in.I thought it was just a link to RepairClinic? Is there another place to buy parts from you?
I'm Ted Bell.

Having said that, personal attacks, ad hominem insults, and libelous claims distract from the main point. Ted, you are welcome to participate in these forums but I'll ask that, in the future, you conduct yourself in accordance with the Samurai School Rules of Etiquette. Domo.

Bankmaster, you have shown yourself to be a Man of Honor. You have also shown great restraint in replying to a personal attack from "Ted Bell," or whatever his real name is. You have earned your new title of "Apprentice Appliantologist."
Kanpai!

Not sure what contact lines you're referring to. The pump is direct coupled to the motor and has a suction and discharge hose--if either of those were disconnected, you'd know it in a hurry!

Yet again, I've got the FL code and my pump has failed - it's happened 6 or 7 times in 4 or 5 years, always lint clogging the propeller, or whatever you want to call it, on the inside of the pump. I was somewhat shocked that the price was now $110 or so and not the $30 I was used to paying.
Of course this post clearly spells out why. My questions are
1. what is this new motor/pump combo gaining me ... I assume better resistance to continual failure, either stronger motor or better pump design ??? ...
2. I assume not too much more effort to get the motor out?
Sorry, I already ordered one from Sears, but from now on will buy from your sources, since I can get something here that Sears doesn't supply very well - support ...
Thanks for any info ...

I haven't taken the machine apart yet, so don't know what I'll find yet. The part will take several days to get here.
My wife just told me that there's been problems in the last month with clothes going thru the sides, so I in fact might have a piece of clothes caught somewhere, and the washplate/ujoint issue might be upon me. I've heard of these problems, but don't know much about them yet, but will in due time ...

I know she specifically mentioned a bathing suit, which should be in a laundry bag anyway - although she did mention other clothes. If they're getting any bigger (towels, shirts), then I will probably start looking for another machine. I assumed that if clothes were slipping down that the gasket seal was getting weak. It sounds like mechanical issues (plate, ubolt)contribute to the plate wobbling enough so that there large enough gaps for clothes to slip down. It wouldn't take much in the way of expense on those parts, for me to pursue another machine, as you say.
I'm aware of a class-action lawsuit in Pennsylvania - but a check for me worth 15 cents with the lawyers making millions comes to mind.
