Whirlpool GS6SHAXLT02 refrigerator with broken upper door hinge pivot

4 posts in this topic

Parents have a Whirlpool GS6SHAXLT02 side by side. Today the top hing pivot in the right door (as you face the unit) broke out of the door.

Is there any way to repair this short or replacing the door? It looks like that pivot is made into the plastic at the top of the door, and that plastic piece appears to be secured to the rest of the door *very well*.

If that's the Whirpool "Conquest" style door the upper plastic molding is not available separate from the door.

Ok, thank you for the reply.

Thats kind of what I figured.

So the next and last question: Is the door available? If it is and its not to much, then that might be an option. Otherwise, its a 10 year old fridge that just became a garage fridge once I get done with it ;)
