Had a call for a microwave that was turning off and on by itself yesterday. Took me 5 minutes with the tester to prove the keypad was sticking. Worth every penny.

I got one right after Christmas and tested it out on a microwave I had laying around... does the job!

I will mention that finding the sliding cover that retains the alligator clip leads was a PITA and I took the damn thing apart before I figured it out... slider is on the back side bottom and it slides towards the side, not down. It also does not span the entire width so it is best to "pull" with your finger vs pushing with force.

Got mine after Xmas also and had the same problem finding the probes... I didn't take it apart but there are a few pry marks I made on the rear of the plastic housing. I was cussing like a sailor the entire time until I discovered the panel moved sideways. I tested it as well and works great.... making a video of it as we speak.

I received my keypad tester...................After reading the instructions.............." NOTE: Leads are located in compartment on the back bottom of tester, slide cover to the left"...... After about 15 minutes of pushing and just about ready to pry, I discovered the cover is not the full width........DSCN0763_zps14e2bbe5.jpg..............So, out falls these short leads.........( anyone use a 'Meg-O-Meter"???? )..........Took the longest time to get the ribbon pushed into the tester,........" A change of the meter reading indicates a good cell, no change indicates the cell is bad".........DSCN0728_zpsb84b0527.jpg...Meter connected.........Is this a normal reading or a shorted cell/keypad?????............      .338 Ohms.   VS>   . 579 Ohms..........One keypad was  255K Ohms.....Shorted keypad?????....DSCN0731_zpsb665cc62.jpg..........Instructions are vague on testing...............The  tester should dump the leads and install connections to insert your leads directly into the tester......The tester's short leads get disconnected from you test leads very easy............So, 'no change' is a failed cell, I can live with that.............Other than that it is      ( 3outa 5)  on this tool....................................................................................................P.S.   Just tried to put those short leads back into the tester housing..I think I will remove half a thumb's UP........... .

Yah, getting those suckers back in is a bitch...

I think you will get a different reading for every different membrane, so long as the values change when u press a button the button is good.
