Whirlpool WFC7500VWOB front load washer - won't start wash cycle

2 posts in this topic

I have a model WFC7500VW Front load washer. When I select the NORMAL (or any other wash) cycle and press and hold the start button, the green LED next to the start button illuminates solid but then nothing else happens apart from the Door Locked LED flashes red and the LED under WASH also flashes green. I think at this point the LED next to start is no longer lit and the machine will remain in this "hung-up" state forever. Also despite the Door locked red LED being illuminated, the door can be opened. I suspect there may be a faulty door switch/sensor but not sure. Out of the 15 plus attempts to start a cycle (just got it yesterday), I have managed to complete two wash cycles and this was only after tripping the breaker for a period of 1-2 minutes to reset the sensing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The tech sheet is located behind the bottom front panel.  Get it and put the control into diagnostic mode to check all the functions.  See if you get code F13 when you test the door lock.  If so, you'll need to replace the door lock assembly:
