Magic Chef ELECTRIC Oven - 9522xub - UNEVEN COOKING

Basic Unit - Heaters ok, thermostat ok, door seals ok.

Complaint of Uneven cooking, temp higher in rear part oven cavity.

I placed 2 thermometers, cheap kind, maybe mercury, or whatever the new stuff is, in rear and front, and got +5-10 degrees hotter in rear, is this normal??

Thermostat seemed to shut off properly.

Is the oven level?

Look for hot spots on the bake or broil elements when they are glowing red. Sometimes they get hotter in a certain spot right before they fail.

This oven is a good 30 years old. Don't waste too much time or money on it.
