I am hearing a chatter right after the normal sounding humm when my 18 month old Whirlpool cabrio top load washer agitates. The washer is still operating ok but I'm concerned about the noise.  Does anyone have an idea about what this might be

Make sure the tub is disengaging from drive for proper agitation.  Most likely a foreign object in recirculation pump.
