Jenn-Air W30400P Door problem and Heating Issue

10 posts in this topic

I have had a door problem with this oven for some time now. Does not close all the way, light stays on. I see many others have had this issue and it seems as though a 'hinge repair kit' including (what looks like) a new inner liner is the fix. No one seems to say if it is a guess or if this part is actually re-engineered / corrected from original design. I'd just like to know more before I take a $100 gamble. This is the part in question:  Part number: AP4010213

Part number: AP4010213

Also, the oven recently stopped heating above ~250 degrees. I saw one other post about this with no answers. Any ideas where to look for that?

Thanks!

There is a service pointer on this issue.  Replacing the hinges alone would cure the problem but you might as well use the kit.  I've seen damage to the liner at the front oven chassis that I've had to replace, along with the hinges, for proper hinge tension.

As far as the temperature issue,  install the hinge kit first then check oven operation.

Brother PDuff, do you have the service pointer number on this problem?

Absent that, here's the hinge part link:

Part number: AP4096703

The hinges and receivers were re-designed and that is why they come as a kit. The new hinges do NOT fit into the old receivers (never tired it the other way around: new receivers with old hinges), so they must be replaced as a set. (However, if you order JUST the hinges with the original part number, they will fit, but you're back to square one if the receivers are also bad).

Test Access = Hold the stop time key at power up OR hold the stop time key for 10 seconds within 6 min of power up.

Test Exit = cancel key, or will self terminate after 16 seconds after last key command (which is a royal pain in the ass if you stop to think about what you are doing).

Bake key = activates Bake relay on the power relay board

Broil key = Broil relay  on the power relay board

Convection Bake = Convection Bake relay on the power relay board

Convection Roast = Convection Roast relay on the power relay board

Oven Light =  Oven Light  relay on the power relay board

Probe Key = Displays probe temp

Timer Keys =  displays Factory codes in blue, oven temp in red

Clean Key = shows status of door lock switches and the status of user selectable options.

Stop Time key = activates beeper at 100%, also displays control ID#

Cook Time Key = Displays any fault codes in memory (F0 = no fault codes)

Digital Input keys = show same digit in display

WOW - Thanks for all of the quick replies!

I cannot open the above bulletin - says I do not have permission.

However, the two links in the post just above this - those are OEM hinges and receivers?

The kit I posted above has the redesigned arms I suspect?

I'm not trying be the cheap guy, but if the new kit fixes it and is $70 cheaper I guess I will go that route.

Thanks again!!

You only have to replace the panel if it is visibly deformed. I've only had to ever replace just the hinge & receiver combo parts listed above.
