Kenmore electric dryer 110 60972990. Blew fuse. replaced and sparks blew fuse again.

Realized it was a short. The heater element burned and a crack in it. Unit is 10 years old. Replaced heater element. New fuses and thru fuse box above dryer july 4th again.

Opened back of dryer and my terminal box burnt to crisp and red, black and white wires fried.

Ordered parts to replace wires and terminal box. Before I replace have a few questions.

I can inspect all the wires but concerned with the red since can't see where it terminates. Realize it is a hot line. Just want to inspect the other end. Where does the red connect into motor?

Have the top of the unit controls open but can't see where red terminates. Tried opening the back of unit but does not detach.

Any help?

... Where does the red connect into motor?

Red connects to one side of a Centrifugal Switch of the Motor,
the other side of that Switch connects to the Heater

Using an OHM meter would help find shorts, etc

without powering the Dryer
