LG tromm dryer DLE7177WM had vent issues, now has no heat

3 posts in this topic

Was out to check out 'burnt popcorn smell' in LG dryer and found plenty o'lint inside dryer, some of which had caught fire, but luckily had not spread. Cleaned all that out (along with equally clogged vent line) and re-assembled. Now cooling light is flashing while dryer light is on and no heat. My first thought was the thermistor or the moisture sensors, but someone else says it could be control board. Any ideas? I do not usually work on LG's and do not know much about them other than they are a pain!

Usually the Thermal Limiter (6931EL3003D) in the left/center location of the Heater Housing fails.

If so---always replace the Thermostat (6931EL3001E) at the rear of the Heater Housing.

Thermal Limiters on LG *gas* dryers are resettable---but not on the *electric* dryers.
