(serial# ZISS420NRESS) GE Monogram has had this problem before:

Freezer is at -17 and fridge is at 44 degrees.

Last time this happened, I took everything out of it and let it thaw for a few days. Plugged it back it and ran perfect for about a month.

Now, i've decided that I don't wan to have to do this everytime and I'd like to address the main problem.

Can anyone advise what's wrong and what parts to buy for the fix?

Thank you!

I expect a faulty evaporator sensor P/N WR55X10025, possibly along with a blocked defrost drain.  Unit will have to pulled from cabinet and accessed from the upper unit section.

How do I check this? Thanks so much -- I'll put one big order together to buy everything I need for this repair. Just want to make sure I have a good plan before going in to fix the issue.

thank you. I will replace this no matter what, looks inexpensive enough... can you tell me where it is? Also, do you know how and where to check the evaporator coils so I can see if they are overly frosted? RegUS_PatOff   Had suggested I check this too, but not sure where they are. Thanks!

Ok got to em'  -- no frost there, looks pretty frost free actually. Any other ideas to what it could be. It's now -8 degrees in the freezer and 40 in the fridge.

yes, running as it always has. Strange thing was that when I checked the coils they were bare copper & pretty much was hot to the touch. Just now they have a thin layer of frost.

also, I should say, that I don't mind being agressive on replacement parts, this fridge has one more chance to prove itself useful before I turn it into scrap metal.

finally used the flowchart! Takes me right to "check or replace the air damper assembly" Can someone sort me to parts so I can purchase. I'm happy to buy them from a location that benefits this site!

awesome. I'll buy today. Can you tell me if this comes with the styrafoam housing? I think I cracked and fixed mine too many times in the past. I'd like to buy a new one of those too. Also, should I replace any other of the susspect parts for good measure?

Any of the thermistors that have a black colored silcone where the wires enter the little body.  If it is solid white, no need to replace without proper check.
