All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Now is a good time to bust a move on HVAC, lots of new tech and old tech tips are out there. Lets get the ball rolling on this one. I have tons of questions about the new stuff and tons of answers about the old stuff.I would like to read about central unit gripes, heat pump nightmares  ,window unit woes, hot surface ignition ,etc.

Great suggestion! Since I'm not all-knowing, all-touching, and all-smelling when it comes to HVAC, I'll need one or more of the Masters to volunteer to moderate the new forum. Any takers?

Ok, applianceman, you've got the new HVAC forum. :dude:

You won't need any special moderator training... yet. Your main job as moderator will be to apply your vast and awesome expertise to answering HVAC questions. As the forum gains popularity and traffic, then we may need to explore your other god-like moderator powers. ;)

Thanks. Are there anyone of you, the handyman type, not the professional ones, ever installed a split central furnace/air system before? I am seriously considering putting a 4T Goodman system in. It seem easy enough. Applianceman thinks Goodman is a good unit. I'd love to learn from your experience. Any things will help. Are there anythings tricky about doing it myself? The reason for Goodman because that seems to be the only brand I can order online. Thanks in advance for your input.
