All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Does anyone happen to have a service manual laying around for a WFW8640BW0 (alpha 2) Whirlpool front load washer?

I uploaded (2) of the (3) tech sheets mentioned in that Service Update,

but they seem to have gotten "lost"

I was working on the Downloads section last night-- fixing the site search engine so it finds files with terms like "500" (success! Try it out) and recent uploads may have gotten nuked. Just re-upload. All good.

Forgive me, in my drunken haze I must have taken the original Job Aid from Whirlpool about seven months ago and noone figured out how to create another one. Or then again this may only be for the Alpha 1. I didn't notice this in the downloads but with this Job Aid and the link above that should be equal to the Alpha 2 Job Aid.

1) search for the (9) files "Sub-Zero" < no results

2) all good

1) search for the (9) files "Sub-Zero" < no results

The built-in search in the site is MySQL-based so you can't use special characters like "-" in the search terms-- the search interprets that as "Find files containing the specific term 'sub' without the specific term 'zero'".  This construct is true and the search is working as designed.  This is why tags are such an important component of effective searching and why I have stressed including them with uploads.

If you want a more Google-like search experience when looking for files, use this search box:  http://appliantology.org/concierge/search-tools.html

There is no document with the standalone term "sub" in it.

"Subzero" does not equal "sub". Two different terms.

The search is working correctly. You're thinking like a googler. Use the other search engine I linked to.
