I used to be able to paste text from my clipboard into the edit box. No longer works... Also, when I hit the quote button in a forum, nothing appears. This makes it very difficult for me to reply to certain messages. I have tried different browsers with the same results. Must be something in my settings that I am overlooking? Thanks, Chat

I had problems with that in internet explorer, did not have search capability either with this new system that Appliantology is on.  Switsh to Chrome & everything works except now I don't have a few features (like spell check) that I have with IE.

Also, when I hit the quote button in a forum, nothing appears.

Testing quote button on iPad (Safari).

Testing cut n paste:

Cut n paste on iPad works.

Will try both operations on my desktop.

Sounds like something may be wrong with your computer. Have you tried rebooting?

Ok, works in Chrome, but not IE 11. WTF?

Can do some things in IE that don't work in Chrome, and can do some things in Chrome that don't work in IE...

Nice...

Both work.

Chat, have you tried:

- clearing your browser cache and

- rebooting your computer?

Can you paste into text boxes on other websites using IE? And what things aren't working in Chrome?

I agree that you should check for malware. I recommend using the free version of malwarebytes.

Can cut and paste in any other site in IE. Have several anti-virus, malware, and hackware searches. I'm clean. Rebooted several times since this has been going on for weeks.

Will use Chrome to access this site. Works in Chrome.

Can't download video in Chrome as easily as I can in IE. (Realplayer).

I'm sure it is something in the settings somewhere,

Windows 7 , IE 11   Google search is not there like on Chrome.   Tried to copy & paste a link to another appliantology post. won't paste (prompt is faded) had to do it on chrome.   Some videos won't run for me on IE   Will work on chrome.  I switch to chrome which seems not as friendly as IE but everything works there.   Chrome does not give me the toolbars that I use with IE.   I like to check my spelling (this is a Chrome issue)   I don't have a spell check available.  No big deal  I bounce around.  Bottom line I know a lot of folks don't like IE but I do.    I repeat   same problems as Chat with Appliantology on IE.

One more thing Samurai, when in IE11 I can't post a quote  as evidenced.  Now I will go to Chrome.

If you can't get copy & paste to work by right clicking, a work around is to use the keyboard shortcuts.

Control "C" = COPY highlighted text to clipboard

Control "X" = CUT highlighted text and copy to clipboard

Control "V" = PASTE whatever is in your clipboard

Sometimes websites have the right click disabled to try and keep users from stealing their content, using the keyboard shortcuts will get around this too most of the time.

Here's a Microsoft support page with lots of other keyboard shortcuts that might be useful to know about:

On Windows 7 with IE and verified that neither quote nor copy and paste work.  Copy and paste don't work with either right click or Ctrl-C/V.  Definitely a bug.  Domo to Brother Chat for bringing this to my attention.  I'll put in a support ticket with Invisionboard.  Will update when I know more.

On Windows 7 running Chrome.  Quote working correctly.

Copy paste test:

Windows 7 with IE and verified that neither quote nor copy and paste work.  Copy and paste don't work with either right click or Ctrl-C/V.  Definitely a bug.  D

Works.

All the videos I tested played correctly, too.

Seems to be a better browser, too- faster, some nice features. I have spell check on Chrome, too.

So, although it's not a fix for the IE11 problem, Chrome seems to be a fully functional and, in some respects, more functional work-around solution until I get a true fix from Invisionboard.

Chrome has tool bars, hide or show them in your settings for Chrome.

I have spell check on Chrome for Windows and it works better than on  Chrome for Mac.  Again, check your settings for Chrome.
